4 Photo Retouching Tricks That Will Take Your Photos to the Next Level

This article will discuss some of the best photo retouching tricks that can be done on your photographs using various software tools like Photoshop and Lightroom.

In this digital era, photography has become an essential medium of communication. It is not only used for personal purposes but also for business purposes.

People take photographs to record their memories and share them with the world. Photography has become an art form in itself, and people are becoming more interested in it as time goes by.

There are many ways to enhance your photographs using different software tools available on the internet or offline.

These tricks will help you take your photos to the next level without going through the time-consuming process of learning to use complicated photo editing software. With these tricks, you can easily create stunning images that will make your portfolio stand out from the crowd.

Tip #1 - Layer Masking

Layer masking is a very powerful tool in Photoshop; it allows you to hide parts of an image from view by creating a mask on a layer and then applying it to another layer.

This is great for hiding unwanted elements, such as hair or clothing, from view without retouching the area or removing it altogether. It's also great for making changes to multiple areas at once.

Tip #2 - Install Custom Photoshop Brushes

Don't feel locked into using only the brushes that come pre-installed in Photoshop. Try installing one of the thousands of brushes the internet has to offer by going into your bushes, clicking the gear icon, and selecting import brushes.

"I believe Photoshop is in some way the contemporary darkroom, the creative area that all photographers have available today."

Tip #3 - How to Create a Rain Texture

Falling raindrops are a great way to add some drama to your photography, but sometimes nature doesn't go with your plans. Make it rain yourself by creating a new layer filled with black, add some noise and then an oblique motion blur, and finally, set the layer to screen!

Add some contrast, and you will have instant rain.

Tip #4 - Create a Quick Light Bleed Effect

Add a subtle edge of the light to blend each image by creating a new layer and painting white towards the top of your image with a large fluffy white brush. Finish it off by lowering the layer opacity!
